Dear Mary, Matt, Marissa, Mischa and family,
Just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear of Mike's passing. My time spent with your family during hockey brings so many fun memories. Mike was great to talk to and always so calm and positive. Jamie shared that he was happy to see him playing golf recently with Mischa. We had so many fun times and Mike will be missed. He leaves such a loving legacy through his life with you Mary, your children and all the lives he impacted so positively. May all the loving memories you made together help you at this very difficult time. Much love to your family from our family.
Love,
Cindy Chandler

Mike was my cousin. Living so far apart for many years my memories are those from childhood. Christmas 1972, Mike visited us in CA and he picked my name for gift giving. When I opened the big package in the bottom was a mini trophy of an onion and the brass plate said ‘you bring tears to my eyes’, I was horrified as I held it, then, Mike with a comforting hand on my shoulder gave me my first Neil Young album-which was all I really wanted that year.!! Humor with love. I was his pesky little cousin who he helped teach to fish, walk to the river with and lend me his guitar when I wanted to learn. From Hawaii Island to all his family I send comfort and love. Cousin Susan

I only got a chance to meet Mr. Johnson on 1 or 2 occasions but Im am very close to his son, Mischa. That was the only reason Mike needed (Im sure being a Vikings fan helped) to be super friendly and invite me into his home. Almost immediately I was drawn to his sense of humor, caring nature, and the love of anything PURPLE. I think both times a met him he was working hard in the garden which speaks volumes to his work ethic that many have mentioned. I have so much respect for this mans fight against cancer and the way he carried himself to the very end. I hope one day I can raise a family that is as loving, caring, and selfless as you have. I will look after Meesh as a brother and always treat the ones you left behind as family. SKOL VIKINGS FOREVER!
