Thomas F. Oglia
Thomas Ferdinand Oglia, 65, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away May 25, 2009 at Bronson Memorial Hospital.
Tom was born on July 4, 1943 in Rochester, NY to the late Ferdinand and Josephine (Frisa) Oglia. Tom received a B.S. degree in chemistry from St. John Fisher College, an M.S. degree in chemistry from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. He had worked for Sandoz Pharmaceutical Co. in New Jersey before joining and then retiring from Upjohn Pharmaceutical Co. in Kalamazoo. He has published technical papers and is a co-inventor on a US Patent. He enjoyed bicycling, nature, photography, and was an avid woodworker. He was a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Tom is survived by his sister Mary Ann Oglia of West Palm Beach, FL and many cousins.
Tom's family will receive friends at Falvo Funeral Home at 1395 N. Goodman St. on Friday, from 3 to 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, 109 Brockley Rd. on Saturday, June 6 at 9:00AM. Internment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
