With great sadness we announce the passing of Nicholas Ruggieri on December 21st 2024. He passed peacefully with loving family by his side.
Nicholas was born in Milazzo, Sicily on August 1st 1952 to Antonina and Stefano Ruggieri and had two siblings, sister Rose and brother Anthony. His family moved from Italy to America on December 8th, 1955.
Nicholas was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High school. He worked for the Monroe county Water Authority, Rapidack, and St. Joe’s Paper before he was employed as a chemical operator at Eastman Kodak for 25 years.
During these years he married Nancy, his loving and devoted wife of 40 years. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter Brooklynn, his pride and joy, and much to his enjoyment she was always performing in musicals and plays.
Nicholas was predeceased by his mother Antonina Ruggieri, his father Stefano Ruggieri, his brother Anthony Ruggieri, and brother in law Nino Tosto. He lives on through his wife Nancy, daughter Brooklynn, and wonderful sister Rose Tosto. Also survived by brother in laws Alan (Lorie) Purdy, Jim Purdy (Laura), sister in laws Sandra Weis (Ace) and Cheryl Bray (Glenn). His godchildren Bradley Bray and Caitlynn Moulton (Cahal). Nephews Steve Tosto (Sarah), Michael Purdy (Sara), Eric Purdy (Jess), Greg Purdy (Brittany), Brian Weis (Mary), nieces Anna Klemenz (Kenny), Kendra Breen (Andrew), Jayme Fantauzzo (Jim), Courtney Purdy, Ashley Fakovic(Matt), as well as great nieces and nephews Olivia, Maddie, Aiden, Steven, Zara, Ryleigh, Maxyn, Mason, Mikayla, Lincoln, Brighton, Elinor, Teagann, Carlie, Lucas and Dominic.
Nick had a great love for music and travel which lives on in both Nancy and Brooklynn. He was also known as “Mr. Nick” a swim instructor at the Webster Aquatic Center where he and his wife taught water babies together.
He had very strong faith and loved studying the Bible which gave him a great sense of purpose, peace, and fulfillment.
He and his family were grateful for the great care he received from the Bay Creek dialysis, Rochester General ICU, inpatient dialysis and security teams.
He touched many lives and hearts and will be greatly missed by all his dear friends and family.
Calling hours to be held on Friday, December 27th, from 4-8 pm at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fpt. Nine Mile Pt. Rd. Webster NY. Services will be held privately.
