Tom was a remarkable man whose warmth, humor, and generosity touched so many. Tom was born and raised in the heart of Rochester’s 19th ward, where he grew up on Stratford Park. He attended St. Monica’s School and graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School with the Class of ’63. After high school, Tom answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Army to serve with honor, spending most of his service stationed in Korea.

Upon returning home, Tom began working at Central Trust Bank, where he met his beloved wife, Barbara. They shared 49 wonderful years together. He cherished his time at the bank but later pursued roles at Kodak and Johnson & Johnson, retiring in 2004. After retirement, Tom stayed busy with part-time work at the Rochester Red Wings and St. Joseph’s Church, where he also volunteered for his children’s sports teams and supported numerous church committees. Whether working or volunteering, Tom’s generous spirit was always a light to those around him.

Known for his love of stories and laughter, Tom had a knack for turning a short conversation into a joyful gathering that could last hours. A devoted fan of Notre Dame Football, he relished the excitement of game day, especially when he was surrounded by family and friends. He shared countless treasured memories at these games, the last of which was in 2018, joined by Marty, Debbie, Kristi, Mark, Scott, Brian, and Mike.

Tom was a man who lived for simple joys; afternoons on the softball field, golf outings, bowling leagues, and weekend getaways. Family vacations held a special place in his heart, particularly his trips to California to visit his sister’s family and create unforgettable memories with loved ones. Tom’s adventurous spirit shone through when he joined his kids and grandkids on roller coasters and theme park rides, with the Jack Rabbit holding a special place in his heart.

Home was where Tom felt happiest, surrounded by the love of his family. He was blessed by Barbara’s nightly home-cooked meals, and their cherished Sunday family dinners became a beloved tradition, bringing everyone together to share laughter and stories. Tom’s kindness, humor, and unwavering love built a strong foundation for his family, instilling values that will be carried on through generations.

Tom was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was a beacon of love and strength. His bond with Barbara was unbreakable, with cherished memories spanning nearly five decades. Their trips together, especially their visits to Aruba in 1975 and 2015, were among his favorite memories, etched forever in his heart. Through his selflessness, laughter, and wisdom, Tom shaped his children into the amazing people they are today, and his grandchildren delighted in his company, treasuring the smiles and joy he brought to every moment.

Tom’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
