Richard “Dick” S. Guche Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Richard “Dick” S. Guche, of Webster, NY. Dick resided in the Pittsford and Webster areas with his loving wife, Bethany (McNally) Guche, for the past 47 years, and lived a full and rich family life.
Born in Brighton, Dick showed an early aptitude for two things: football and automotive mechanics. Upon completing high school and junior college, Dick opened the first of his several automotive businesses in the Rochester area. His namesake business, Dick Guche Auto Repair, became a touchstone of the Guche family, the Fairport community and the then-players of the Rochester Americans Hockey Team.
Dick and Beth were introduced on a blind date in 1977 and raised their two children in Pittsford. Over these past years, Dick and Beth have thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren. Together, Dick and Beth modeled unwavering love, loyalty, resilience and compassion for one another. Dick embodied a valiant spirit over several decades of illness from a degenerative muscular disease which he fought until the end, ever the warrior.
Dick loved his family dearly and raised his children with the values of integrity and loyalty that he quietly demonstrated every day. He loved spending time with his family, friends and neighbors. Dick appreciated a cold beer after a long day’s work, perfecting his lawn on his John Deere lawn tractor, and a big party. He was quick with a good story, made friends wherever he went, and could fix just about anything. Dick forever rooted for his beloved Boston Bruins, Cleveland Browns, Rochester Americans and New York Yankees.
Dick is survived by his wife, Beth, and his children, Jenna (Mike) Mastri and Kimberly (Chris) Davis. Grandpa/Papa is also survived by his very special and much-loved grandchildren, Parker, Emerson, Mallory, Bennett and Leonardo. They were the light of his life and brought so much happiness to his heart.
Dick was predeceased by his parents, Vangjel and Liria, and 2 brothers, Bill and Jimmie. He is survived by his brother Don, sister Carol, and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at Falvo Funeral Home in Webster from 11:00-1:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that was very close to Dick’s heart.
