Obituary of Linda Mae Rice
In Loving Memory of Linda Mae Rice
Linda Mae Rice (O’Neil) aka Curly, aged 77, of Brockport, NY, was called home on December 24th 2023 in Rochester, NY. Linda was born on October 3rd 1946 in Newark, NY. She was a beloved sister, mother, aunt and grand-mother. She was also a cherished friend to many young and old. Linda worked for many places, but she will be remembered most for her work at Hickory Farms and as a lunch aide at #33 School here in Rochester, where she made a positive impact with the youth.
Linda had a vibrant personality and was known for her sense of humor, her kindness and her caring nature. She had a stubborn streak that was passed down from her parents and would sometimes get her in trouble, especially with her family members and those in the medical field that would help care for her. But she had a big heart and it was usually easy to forgive her for her stubborn nature. Linda loved keeping up with her family and would often call them to keep them in the loop of what was happening in her life. She also enjoyed playing her lottery numbers and her scratch offs. She was also a dedicated customer of Tim Hortons. In her earlier years she enjoyed going to Bingo with her partner Daniel O’Neil.
Linda was preceded in death by her partner Daniel O’Neil. Her mother Etta Mae, father Robert Roy Rice, sister Joyce Rice (Velez), brothers William, Lawrence and Roy Rice. She is survived by her siblings Etta Rice (Harry), Mary Rice (Tom), Rose Rice (Ace), Richard Rice, Laverne Rice (Debbie), Roger Rice (Sherry) and Linda’s four children, Richard O’Neil (Trisha), Robert O’Neil (Laura), Peggy O’Neil (David), Tammy O’Neil (Timothy) and her companion of 13 years Harold Vanduser. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grand-children.
A Funeral Service will be held at Falvo Funeral Home, located at 1395 N. Goodman St. in Rochester NY. Calling hours are Saturday, January 13th from 2-5pm. The Falvo Funeral Home is honored to assist with the passing of Linda Mae Rice. May Linda’s memory be a source of comfort and strength for her loved ones during this difficult time.
