Obituary of Georgia Styliades
Georgia was born in Salonika Greece in 1928. She is predeceased by her parents, Michael, and Ukrainian Nichols; her Husband, George Styliades and her two brothers Nick Nichols and Dr. Chris Nichols, DDS. She was a strong woman who survived the atrocities of the Natzi occupation of her village during World War II. She was a fiercely loving mother to her children, and although she had little formal education herself, encouraged each of her children to always learn. She valued education. She was proud to see each of them receive a college education. As an adult, not only did she return to school to improve her ability to read and write, but she also learned to drive at an age when many would have stopped learning.
Her most precious gift was her family. She is survived by her children, Gus (Carol), Harry (late Denise), Sylvia and Joanne (Harold) Schlicker. Beloved Yai Yai to Christopher, Gregory, Nicole, Harold Michael, and Melanie. Great Grandmother to Angel, Thalia, Fury, Kade and Reign. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends Monday morning November 20, 2023, from 9-11am at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 962 East Avenue, Rochester NY 14607, where services will be held at 11 am with burial following immediately after at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Lunch to follow at the Church.
