Aunt Belle was a true matriarch of the family. She and Uncle Louie (a war hero) were always there to watch over the family to see if you needed anything. More people stayed with them then some hotels. I thought I was special when I would walk in the door and she would instantly start cooking some cardone fritto (fried burdock). Only to find out she did it for everyone. I never saw Aunt Belle without a smile. “Don’t worry be happy,” was her motto and she made you feel it should be yours. Somewhere out there there is a new angel with wings that will still watch over us, pushing us to “don’t worry be happy” and “lets dance.” Look for her, She will be there.

God Bless our Aunt Belle. When I think of Aunt Belle, I think of a shimmering light so bright at times and other a beautiful shimmering glow. Though she was private in her life she brought joy to those around her. We couldn’t attend an event or family get together that she wouldn’t work the room and get everyone up and singing. She may not have been famous or discovered something new, but her energy of spirit drove all that’s right about this world!
