Obituary of Richard J. Orico

Richard Joseph Orico 

Rick was born in Rochester to Joseph R. and Josephine R. Orico on May 5, 1959. He was the beloved nephew of Josephine A. Orico.  He was the youngest of 4 siblings.   He went to Nazareth Military Elementary School and to Aquinas High School and also to Eastman School of Music and RIT.  He was a very talented piano and keyboard player well known over the years for playing with many bands including Street Player, Sahara, See Alice and  Blindsight.   He worked 25 years at the Xerox Corporation working his way from assembly line to production engineer.  He was talented in home remodeling as well. He was known affectionately by many children/adults as Coach Rick for the Pop Warner Webster Wildcats.  It was this that brought him to find the love of his life, his soul mate Jenifer. They spent 23 years together, married for 10 of them.  

He was proud to be stepdad to Jillian (Thomas) Gugino  and Stephen (Andrea) Kent and grandpa to Sarah and Liliana, brother in law to Jane(Thomas) Michaelides, Joseph (Carrie) Spurney and son in law to Julia Spurney. He was the beloved uncle to Krysta, Tommy and Ryan. He was blessed with many cousins including MaryBeth (Mark) Navarra.  

He was beloved by so many family and friends. He was extremely loyal and would do anything for anyone. He will be missed by so many.  He was self described as “Rick Field and Stream” and loved fishing and hunting. He was the proud owner of a 300 game ring for his bowling achievements.

He had so many friends from all his activities and he will be missed by so many.  He was well known for his generous nature, larger than life personality and his ability to make you laugh.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 4-8pm at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Pt. Rd. (Rte. 250) Webster. Please join the family Friday, October 6, 2023, at St. Rita's Church for the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
