Obituary of Donald J. Varrenti
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September, 10, 2023, at age 88. Predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Veronica Varrenti. Survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Nina; Children, Mary Ellen (William) Leonardo, Daniel (Beth) Varrenti, Michelle (Michael) Coon, and Denine (Craig Laudadio) Varrenti; Grandchildren, Joshua (Morganne), William, Jack (Janine) and Samuel Leonardo, Donny, and Molly Varrenti, Jacob Laudadio; Great-grandchild, Adrian Leonardo; Brother, Robert "Bob" (Marilynn) Varrenti; Sister in laws, Stephanie Gianforti, Jean Cray; Brother in laws, Jerry DiLaura and Sam Ferrara. Many loving nieces and nephews.
Above all, Don held family and faith close to his heart, food and the Bills came in a close 2nd. He was a loving parent, grandparent, sibling, and friend. The joy of his life was found in moments spent with his loved ones, whether gathered around a dinner table, watching a game on a Sunday afternoon, or simply sharing stories and laughter. You could always count on him for a quick joke or a friendly "hey guy!" to lift any conversation he was part of.
A special thanks to sister in laws, Stephanie and Jean. Also caregivers Lisa , Shanice and Carla and the URMC hospice team.
Don's Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 15, at 10am at St. Jerome's Church 207 Garfield Street E. Rochester N.Y. 14445. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don's memory to The Highland Gift Fund (1000 South Ave., Rochester, NY 14620.) Entombment Private.
