Obituary of John "Jack" F. O'Brien PhD
Fairport: Passed away peacefully on June 24, 2023, at age 86. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas F. O’Brien and Grace (Donaldson) O’Brien; Sister, Virginia Claire O’Brien-Barnes. Survived by his loving wife, Pasqualina “Patricia” Provvidenza O’Brien; Niece, Mary (Joseph) Pish; Great-niece, Jessica (Corey) Allen-Baldauf; Cousins, Dawne Gould and Barbara King; Special family, Sister-in-law, Maria Angotti; Nephew, Joseph Provvidenza; Special cousin, Pina Zaffuto; Special friends, Felice Morreale, Giuseppina and Dr. Adnan Siddiqui.
John was born in Endicott, N.Y. on May 5, 1937, and graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1955. He then graduated from Rensselaer Poly Technic Institute in 1959 with a bachelors in physics. John went on to receive his PhD from the University of Rochester. He taught physics for two years at the University of Rochester, and then he worked as a scientist at Xerox until his retirement with 22 patents.
Calling hours on Monday, July 3, 2023, from 10am-12pm at Falvo Funeral Home 1295 Fpt. Nine Mile Pt. Rd. Webster, N.Y. with his Funeral Service also Monday at 12:30pm at St. Joseph’s Church 43 Gebhardt Rd Penfield, N.Y. Entombment White Haven Memorial Park.
