Obituary of Margarita Roldan

Margarita Roldan passed on the morning of June 24, 2023 peacefully in her sleep in her home. 

Margarita was predeceased by her parents, Cecilio and Lydia Melendez Vazquez, sisters, Juanita and Virgenmina, and brother, Radames. Margarita is survived by her loving husband Ismael Roldan, sisters, Carmen, Victoria and Nydia, loving daughters, Marlene (Jim) and Brenda (Mark), and loving step-daughter Doris (Nelson), grandchildren, Andrew, Nicole (Scott), Eddie, Alyssa, Ryan, and Lucas, great-grandchildren, Hailee, Hayden, Avianna, Anastasia and her loving dogs, Bebo and Chiky.

Margarita was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico and moved to Rochester in her early 20’s, married Ismael in 1973. She worked as a production worker and housekeeper, but since stopping work she spent much of her time taking care of her family, and her dogs. Margarita was a loving mother who always helped her children and grandchildren when they were in need. She also loved gardening and taking care of her flowers, and had the most beautiful flowers in her yard. Hosting parties and entertaining friends and family was also very important to her. She was the life of the party when the family got together, and would always be dancing, and enjoying the music and company.  She was an avid cook who always made sure there was enough food for everyone and anyone who showed up at their door. Margarita had an impact on everyone that met her and she will forever be missed.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 4-8 pm and her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 10 am, both at Falvo Funeral Home, 1395 N. Goodman St. Rochester, NY 14609. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
