My friend my sister words cannot express the sadness I felt inside my heart is broken in pieces .I will remember the happy memories we shared together and ones we cried together.......you have been a tower of strength to me I could talk to you about anything ,at least there is nothing we haven’t shared .there is this connection between us if I take up my phone to call you I would just see my phone ringing and it’s you on the other line I remember when we had house phone when we collected our bill it was just us number and as I recall paying our bills one day the post office lady said let me ask you both a question uno no talk to no one else and we both started laughing , I will never forget your sweet cooking the peas soup and the blue draws , I will always remember your kindness, you never stop giving I thank God for the time he afforded us together I will never forget our last breakfast together and dinner, it’s sad to see you go but but God knows why I keep on saying to myself we spoke about everything but you did not tell me that you were going to leave me .. (sigh) sleep in peace my forever friend. Love from Sandra

To: Mr. Gibson, Karen ,Richard and Rohan and family
Your wife and mother was a lady with a Joyous spirit and infectious laugh.
The "good old days" which are now cherished memories, are what we have to keep us though these times. From as far back as when your family just started to build your home across the street . We all became fast friends and family. Gates and doors always open. Plates and cups over flowing with her meals and love.
She loved her family dearly and was always ready to share a photo of her grandchildren.
God works in mysterious ways but I take comfort in the fact that she was able to come home for us to see her one last time. I remember watching her car drive off when she left for the air port and then seeing her via WhatsApp video call. She always asked bout every one and always sent her "hellos" .
May Her Soul find Peace

To the family of Mrs. Cynthia Gibson
A tribute
Mrs. Gibson, Ms. G. Ms. Cynthia. I have known this lady for over 20 years, when she became my neighbor. I found her to be very warm, friendly, kind and caring. All these virtues she extended beyond her immediate family circle, to include mine and many other families.
She and I would spend lots of time together sitting under the Ackee Tree talking and laughing together we shared happy and sad moments and so our friendship grew to the extent where we felt comfortable visiting each other’s home.
Ms. G, was also very industrious, loved to cook, bake and fix up her house. I was fortunate to partake of many of those scrumptious meals. She prepared – Stew Peas with pig’s tail. (She loved pork cooked in all styles), Rice and Peas with Chicken done in different ways, Curry Goat.
Ms. G was very meticulous she loved things done and looking a certain way from her appearance to her home environment. She was neat, clean and tidy and most of all a woman of God.
Even though she migrated we would text and call each other very regularly. Our last conversation was about her coming to Jamaica and even though its COVID time we would still have to spend sometime together under the Ackee Tree and I am so glad we did. Because those are the times I now have to cherish. Four weeks before her untimely passing while in Jamaica she made some delicious “blue draws” and sure enough mine was packaged and sent over.
A few weeks before she came to Jamaica, I remembered sending her a explanation of the 23rd Psalm, She replied with a voice note to say thanks for sharing and how it blessed her soul. This message I will keep as long as possible.
We certainly enjoyed each other company. I will always cherish those times we spent together.
May Her Beautiful Soul Rest in Peace
Mary Brady

To my dear aunt Cynthia, if keeping the family together was a person and being selfless, you would be the ideal. You took care of everyone, you led by example and it showed in the way you cared for your children. You left an indelible mark in society, but the Lord decided to take you home, your time came and he held you by the hand. May your soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine on you, to my dear cousins the Lord giveth and taketh away, and he takes care of his own.

I can remember those summers, when we were kids, you would visit us in Brown's Town and we all played all sorts of games including hide and go seek even into the night. I can hear you answer the phone "Hello Miss Dennis" and then we talk about our day. RIP Cuz!
