Obituary of Gerald J. Randisi

Gerald J. Randisi, CFP (Jerry) (September 18, 2021)

Jerry entered into eternal rest at the age of 70, with family and friends by his side, after a two-year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Denise (née Campisi), his devoted children: Andrew (Elizabeth) Randisi, Aaron James (Jenna) Randisi, and Kristina (Daryl) Barth. Also cherished grandchildren: James, Jerald, Charles, Natalie, and Audrey Randisi, and Camryn Barth. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Pauline Randisi, and father-in-law James Campisi. Also left to honor his memory are his four siblings: Rosanne (Mike) Dalton, Suzanne Smith, Joanne (Tom) Wielandt, and Charles (Molly) Randisi. Also Denise’s family: mother-in-law Wilma Campisi, siblings David (Mary) Campisi, Dale, Doug (Antonella Ciccarelli), Nora Campisi, Dawn (Eric) Omark, Connie (Mike) Hogan, and many nieces, nephews, and special godchildren. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles: Dr. and Mrs. Enrico and Patty Camporesi, Ange (Lillian), Robert (Karen), and Joseph Campisi; June Young, Beth Stevenson, and many cousins. He also leaves behind many lifelong friends who have been beside him on this journey of life.

Jerry was a Senior Partner at Crossbridge Financial Group. He took great pride in helping clients achieve financial success and plan for their futures for over 35 years. He also valued the relationships he had with his partners and other colleagues he met throughout his career. Many of them became more like family than business associates. Jerry’s hard work ethic began as a young man working in his family’s Italian bakery. Ran-Cora Bakery was famous for their cookies and pastries, along with sandwich rolls, French and Italian breads. Ran-Cora was the original source of Wegmans bread until the store created its own in-house bakeries. Jerry prided himself by still baking St. Joseph bread for family and friends each year, and each Christmas he enjoyed making hundreds of Italian “meatball” cookies with the grandkids.

Jerry and Denise had the great opportunity to travel to many locations around the U.S. and the world. Rome and Tuscany in Italy, his ancestors’ village in Sicily, Ireland, the pink sand beaches of Bermuda, Hong Kong and China, Aruba, Puerto Rico, and several Hawaiian islands, to name a few. They enjoyed several cruises and Disney vacations with their family for wonderful quality time together. Some of the couple’s favorite cities in this country included San Diego, where they loved the Zoo and touring the battleship Midway. New York City had the sites, the food, and both old and new Yankee Stadiums. The golf and the beaches were spectacular in West Palm Beach, Florida. The lights, the shows, the casinos, and let’s not forget the heat, as always, were memorable in Las Vegas. San Antonio, Texas, had River Walk, which was wonderful, but Jerry had an unfortunate encounter with “the scorpion.” The best place would be, of course, their home town of Webster, “where life is worth living.”

An avid golfer, Jerry was able to play on some of the greatest golf courses around the world. Here at home, he became affectionately known to some as the “Mayor of Brookwood.” He valued his opportunity to play rounds of golf at Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines in California, The National and Shinnecock Hills in New York, Kapalua in Hawaii, Old Head in Ireland, and numerous others. He enjoyed bowling and almost achieved a perfect game of 300 several times, only missing by 1 or 2 pins. When time allowed, he loved to fish, and enjoyed teaching his grandkids the sport.

Jerry was an active member of Webster Kiwanis for many years, and served as the treasurer. He enjoyed his years of coaching Webster youth baseball (one of the fields at Empire Park bears his name) and still worked with his grandsons to improve their skills. Evenings and weekends were enjoyed watching the grandkids play and swim in our pool. Sunday night family dinner was one of his greatest joys. He loved to watch the pros play golf, the Giants and the Bills play football, reminisce about the Boston Celtics from years gone by, and root and cheer for his beloved Yankees.

Jerry will be remembered for his generosity, his leadership, his ethics, his wisdom, his friendships, his sense of humor, and most of all, his love of family: the love he gave and the love he received twice over.

Family will receive friends at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Road in Webster, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22. Additional calling hours will be on Thursday, September 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. A prayer service will be immediately following at Falvo funeral home at 12:30 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Timothy Young. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
