Our condolences to the Koerner Family on the loss Chick. I had the honor to work under Chick when he was a Sergeant in Maple Section. Not only was he a mentor he was a Friend. He truly was one of Rochester’s finest and will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in Peace Brother.

I first met Chick Koerner as a Sergeant after I graduated from the academy and was assigned (for a short time) to the Atlantic Section. he was obviously a good leader who was well respected by a solid group of cops. As time went on we worked together on many details, particularly when he was in the Tactical Section and was often in the Downtown area for our many protests. I valued his friendship, his experience and his assistance. RIP.

"Chick" was a mentor to me as a co-worker in Maple Section and made it very easy for me to transition back to "the street" from R&E at the RPD. A great cop, and an excellent Lieutenant at Maple Section where I met (and relieved) him. I lost contact but am happy to learn that Clyde PD had him as Chief of their PD, he was certainly qualified for the job. His passing is a true loss to his family and the community he well-served! I, for one, will miss him and his level of competence and dedication to the job and his family. Prayers to Bonnie and the Family on your loss!

I want to express sincere condolences to the Koerners for your loss. Lt. was one of my bosses who I respected and was one of the bosses that always had your back. I learned so much from Lt. and I want to thank him for assisting me during my time as a Police Officer for RPD. God Bless, RIP, and you will be missed
