Barbara Noreen Wood

Rochester: Passed peacefully on January 23, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
She was born in Rochester, NY where she raised her family as a homemaker in the Corpus Christi Parish. Her work life included Stromberg-Carlson before she had children and as a school crossing guard when her kids were teenagers. A big fan of Soap Operas, she had scrapbooks full of autographed pictures and letters from her favorite stars. Mom/Grandma was also the official photographer for all events including birthdays, special outings or just family life and had over a hundred photo albums from decades of picture taking. She loved the Holidays and getting together with her family. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Barb is predeceased by her husband, Leon D. Wood, Jr., her parents, Wilfred & Katherine (McAlpine) McConnell. She is survived by her daughter Theresa (Louis) Figaro, sons Tom (Lori) Wood, and Tim (Pam) Wood. Granddaughters Barbara (Eric) Muniz, Kelsea (Brad) Zembower, Maegan Wood (Tyshawn Heath) and Kara (Ben) Chittley. Great-grandson Eric Muniz, Jr. and Calvin Chittley. Also survived by her sisters Dolores (John, deceased) Young and Betty (Jim) Connelly and brother John (Vicky) McConnell. As well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Monroe Community Hospital for the many years of kind, compassionate care and comfort afforded Barb where she made many friends.

Goodman St. Please meet the family THUR (1-28-2021), 10 am in St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish at Our Lady of America's Church (864 E. Main St.) for a celebration of her Funeral Mass.
