Mary Gloria (Kalfas) Conderacci

Mary, who might have had a singing career in New York, but chose to raise a family in Rochester instead, died January 5th after contracting COVID-19 in Auburn, NY.  She was 96.

She was born in Reynoldsville, PA, but moved to Rochester as an infant with her mother, Josephine, after her father, George Kalfas, died. A graduate of East High, Mary had a beautiful voice and toyed with the idea of singing for a living. Instead, she worked at Eastman Kodak, where she met her husband, Alfred Conderacci. 
They married in 1947, had two children, Gregory and Jacqueline, and lived in Irondequoit where Mary sang in the St. Ambrose Church choir and became famous for her delicious cream puffs. She was active in the Parents Association at Bishop Kearney High School.
After her husband died unexpectedly of a heart attack in 1979, she worked as secretary to the director of the Mary Cariola Center. She moved to Perinton where she was involved in the Cambridge Court homeowners association for decades. 

Friends and family will celebrate her long and loving life at a Mass at Church of the Assumption, 20 East Ave., Fairport, NY at 11:15 am January 11th. She will be buried next to her mother and husband at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mary Cariola Center (www.marycariola.org) or any charity. 
Mary is survived by her son, Greg Conderacci of Baltimore, MD, her daughter, Jacci Farlow, and son-in law, Virgil Farlow of Aurora, NY; her grandchildren, Lee and Anne Conderacci of Baltimore, MD and Griffon and Vienna Farlow of San Diego, CA; her nephew, Rand Macksamie, of Darien, CT and her niece, Lisa Dubrovich of Denver, CO.
