Obituary of Anthony L. Leone

Anthony Louis Leone

Rochester: July 21, 1933 – December 14, 2020.

On early Monday morning, December 14, 2020, Anthony passed away in his sleep and joined Our Heavenly Father.  

Tony was always smiling, with his family as much as he could be, and often found enjoying good food.  He enjoyed traveling, but more than anything, he loved being at the family cottage in Sodus Bay. Having his children and grandchildren together made him happiest.  He was a fun grandpa. Affectionately known as Papa.  He always had funny stories to tell and important vocabulary to teach.  Our dad was an amazing father and grandfather.  He did not have it easy … he had to do double the work and give double the love because mom passed at an early age.  He was our rock; an ever-present shoulder to cry on, lap to sit on, listening ear.  His memories will make us laugh and give us comfort.  He will be missed terribly. Rest in peace Papa, we love you!

Anthony is pre-deceased by his wife, Stella Leone and son-in-law Gary Alessi.  He is survived by his son Michael Leone (Karen Leone), daughters Sharon Gruttadauria (James Gruttadauria) and Lisa Alessi, grandchildren Samuel Gruttadauria, Charles Alessi, Nina, Alessi, Anthony (Sabrina) Intini and Danielle Intini. Brother James Leone (Dolores Leone) Many nieces and nephews.
Anthony's Funeral Mass will be held Monday 11 am at Holy Spirit Church (1355 Hatch Rd. Webster). Interment private.
