Obituary of Arline W. Chatfield
Arline W. Chatfield, 78, of Webster, NY, passed away on November 8,2020 in Rochester, New York.
Visitation will be held at the Webster Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Rd on Wednesday, November 11th from 4 - 7 PM. In observance of NYS mandated restrictions, visitation is limited to 25 people inside at one time. In addition, masks, hand sanitizing, and social distancing will be required.
A private funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12th. Interment will follow at Webster Union Cemetery, Webster, NY.
Arline is survived by her husband of 54 years, Peter A. Chatfield of Webster, NY, sons Dean (Lynn) of Chesapeake, VA, Gary (Lisa) of Macedon, NY, and Matt (Kristi) of Webster, NY, and grandchildren Austin, Madison, Molly, Ana, and Charlie. She is also survived by brothers and sister’s in-law Warren (Bernie) Chatfield, Pam (Bob) Regan, Sue (Kenny) King, and Paul (Sue) Chatfield, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dmytro and Anna Wozniak, and sisters Mary and Ann Violet.
Arline was born in Rochester, NY on September 7th, 1942. She graduated from Nazareth Academy in 1960 and went on to Miss McCarthy’s Business School in Rochester, NY. She worked 6 years as an administrative assistant for Rochester Gas & Electric Company before devoting herself full-time to raising her family. Arline worked for the Webster Central School District for 18 years and spent numerous years volunteering at Klem Road South Elementary School in Webster, the Rochester City School District, and the Webster Recreation Senior Center.
Arline had a very outgoing personality, was able to start a conversation with practically anyone, and especially enjoyed socializing with her close friends, “the club”. She was skilled and creative in the kitchen, trying new ideas regularly, interpreting recipes loosely, and rarely measuring ingredients. Arline was proud of her Ukrainian heritage, particularly enjoying the holiday food and traditions. She loved to travel, being especially fond of Caribbean cruises, and loved to talk with others about their travels. Arline was a fan of classic cars and classic movies, particularly those by Alfred Hitchcock. A fan of both modern music and oldies, Arline loved musicals and attending outdoor concerts. She enjoyed shopping and the pursuit of the best deal and was a devoted supporter of any sport or event her children and grandchildren participated in.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to a charity of your choice.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wealth of caregivers, family / friends that supported Arline in her final months, we especially thank her primary caregiver Lisa, as well as the team at Rochester Regional Health’s Lifetime Care, the Rochester Geriatric Consultation Service, and the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center for their compassionate care.
