Simon was a fine young man, I was saddened to read of his passing. I was lucky to be one of Simon’s teachers at East Irondequoit Middle School. Simon was eager to learn and we shared many conversations on the Dallas Cowboys. My deepest sympathy goes out to Simon’s family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. My daughter, Tegan, attended kindergarten with Simon at St. John Neumann. At that time there was a teaching assistant named Mrs. Young in the classroom. When ever I would volunteer, it would cause some confusion because there would be two Mrs. Youngs. Simon decided to begin calling me “Mrs. Tegan’s Mom” to differentiate between the two of us. He was such a sweet kid- kind and happy with just a tiny bit of mischief shining in his eyes. My condolences to his family and friends ❤️ Michelle Young

Simon, I have loved you since the day you were born. My heart is broken. You shined every day. You were the bravest little boy I ever knew. You grew to a beautiful young man who literally loved every one you meant and made life fun to be around you. I will miss you forever and for always

Sending condolences & prayers to the family! Simon was my partner during culinary classes at EMCC & I loved every moment of it. Full of life and laughter I wouldn’t have asked for a different person to make mistakes with or to share my success with! I will miss the corny jokes and the weird dance breaks . I miss you already xoxo . with love MK

My family first met Simon when my son and he were in the same 2nd grade class at St John Neumann School. They were quick friends and remained so over the years. Because I felt such a good vibe and knew John would be safe with Simon, Maria and Pebbles their house was the first place I allowed John to spend the night away from home so that they could celebrate Simon's birthday. I am also glad for all of the birthdays that John was able to celebrate with Simon especially his 20th this past July. I have great memories of Simon always positive dancing, singing, Two of my favorite Simon memories are a video my daughter has of him dancing in our hallway and him performing Fireflies by Owl City in the school talent show. No matter where we saw Simon his house our house, the hospital, the mall, Wegmans, the beach, Seabreeze he was always wearing the biggest most beautiful smile full of hope and positivity. Words cannot express how much Simon will be missed just know without a doubt he will never be forgotten. To Simon's family thank you so much for sharing him with us he was one of those people who taught us so much about life and living everyday to the fullest.

Simon was my bestfriend. He would always be there for me when I needed him or even when I didn’t. He always brought joy to me and my family. He always made me smile when I was down. I never met anyone like Simon before, Simon had his own personality and his own type of style. I loved when he laughed, his laugh would always make me cheer up. I miss him dearly and he will forever be in my heart. I’m so sorry to everyone that loved him. It is a huge loss. But he is watching over us all. May you rest easy Simon, until we meet again ❤️

I remember Simon as the little guy next door who was suppose to be napping, but talked to me though his window instead. Growing up...he was always polite and mature for his age. He was so handsome. He took a job caring for my dog and wrote a nice note thanking me for the job. He told me that he loved my dog. When he was little, he wanted our dogs to marry. I watched Simon grow. I watched him play ball in the street with his brother, Josh. I saw him running and dancing down the street when school was out for the summer. Later on I saw Simon get weak. He needed a new heart. He got it, and I think he felt like he could do anything. He lived his life to the fullest. He lived too hard and too fast, but he lived a good life. I will never forget him. "See you later, Simon. Love ya!"
