Just heard that George passed. I had the pleasure back in the 70's to pay a gig or 2 with George in my band. We were all breaking in then. Always said Hello to each other through the years at his gigs.

Diane and Georgie - I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of such a great man. His enduring love for his wife and Robbie and Georgie was a precious gift. George left behind so many wonderful memories for both of you and I hope that these memories will bring you some solace at this time. My daughter, Gina, and I are so fortunate to know such a loving and caring family. Robbie is with his daddy now and they will look down and send you “heavenly” kisses every day and night.
So much love,
Joni Infantino

Papa was always positive and a hero to me. Papa was a role model to me and he always taught me to do better in many situations. One memory I had with him was when Didi, him, and I were going to Pre-school. I had a fire truck toy and, I kept making it go off with its sirens and Papa kept pulling over thinking it was a real fire truck. He kept getting frustrated, and I heard Didi and Papa just arguing on how it's was just a toy which was funny. I appreciate this memory because this reminded me how fun Papa was and funny. I also remember how hard working he was. Every day he put his mind to something to work on. I love Papa very much and he was an amazing man. I am so sorry Didi and Georgie for for your loss. Love Garrett

Papa was and always will be my hero. He has taught me so much. My first memory with Papa is when he taught me how to swim. Though I remember very little of this, I appreciate it. I appreciate it because this is my first of many memories with Papa. Papa was a very amazing man and I love him very much. I am so sorry Didi and Georgie for your loss.

I remember when we came to meet you and Diane 17 years ago. You and Diane were so kind. So it began, a long lasting relationship. You and Diane became another set of grandparents, and quickly became Didi and Papa. You were always there for Connor. You did not miss a first day of school, grandparents day, a birthday, or so many monumental occasions. Even taking Connor to swim lessons in Tim's absence so my hair would not get wet. Then came Garrett. You met him in the hospital when he was just born. You spent countless hours with both Connor and Garrett. You were also Papa to Timmy and Lindsi Flynn. There were so many great times. Too many to count. We all spent wonderful times together over dinner with wine. You were my wine buddy. I toast you every time I have glass of wine. You taught us all so many lessons. I think of you every day. I miss your laugh, your smile, and your joking with Connor and Garrett. We are blessed to have spent so many years with you and Diane, and now you are in heaven with your son Robbie.

George, I will miss you more than words can express. You came into our family's life 17 years ago, when Diane, the love of your life, and soon after the love of our life became the Nanny to our son Connor Reed. It didn't take long before Maat and I realized that this new relationship was very special. You and Dianne quickly became an extension of our family, and to this day, our two son's, Connor and Garrett thought of you both as extended grand parents. The many special moments that we have all shared together will forever be ingrained in our hearts and minds. We love you George, and we will all miss you dearly. Thank you for being there for us, and for being such a treasured friend.
To Diane and Georgie. We all love you very much, and we are so sorry for your loss. Please know that we are here for you.

James Reed writes:
My sincere and deepest condolences to the DeMott family. George was a good friend, and the God Father to my youngest Grandson, Garrett. He was also like another Grand Parent to both of my Grand Son's, Connor and Garrett Reed. His love for these boys, and for the support and friendship that he bestowed on my son, Tim and his wife Maat, I will forever be grateful. As a fellow veteran, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing you at the VA, and I was honored to call you my friend. While I will miss you, I am quite certain our Lord and Savior has a special place for you in heaven.

We are extremely saddened to learn of the passing of George F. DeMott Jr. Anyone who ever met him became an instant friend. We are grateful to have known and ridden alongside of him. Please accept our heartfelt condolences to his wife Diane and his son George, as well as all his family and brothers. He was a humble man of many talents who was a decorated soldier that valiantly served this country. We are fortunate to have known him and although he will be greatly missed by all, we take solace in knowing that he is once again reunited with his beloved son, Robbie. May God watch over his family. The passage of time may eventually serve to ease the sorrow of all who knew him, but he will never be forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.

Diane, I am speechless and saddened to learn of your loss! Though I feel speechless, I want you to know all of your precious family is included in my prayers. The soul of your beloved is included in my prayers. It is easy to remember your beloved George's generous soul each and every day, as I remember my own spouse and include your George in prayers for their loving souls.
My spouse was one of your son's most enthusiastic fans! We drove in a torrential rain to see and hear your son, in East Rochester, just in case it wasn't raining in East Rochester. It was! We came back the next night and listened in the drizzling rain.
I recall dancing with residents, from a local senior community, as your spouse played with the Coupe De'Villes, at Charlotte Beach. I know you have countless memories of all the blessings you have received because George came into your life!
My prayers are with you.
George! Divine Intervention must have been the reason I called you so soon after your father's death. Perhaps, your fan, Don really did nudge me to call. I had no knowledge of your loss. I cannot convey my condolences adequately enough!!! I am so sorry for your great loss and the loss to all of your family!
Sincerely with sympathy and prayers,
Joan Wania
