Rochester - Geraldine "Geri" Palmeri Muoio of Rochester, New York, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2019. Geri was predeceased by her husband, William "Bill" Muoio. She is survived by her six loving daughters, Nicole McCabe, Michele Muoio, Nadine May (Rob), Jacqueline Mazzilli (Steven), Jeannine Salamone (John), and Romy Barbato (Jim); her brother Rudolph Palmeri; her eight grandchildren, Charlie, Julia, Aidan, Adam, Thomas, Annabella, Gianna, and Alessia; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Geri was born on June 14, 1938 in North Tonawanda, New York, the daughter of Sam and Isabel Palmeri and the stepdaughter of Mildred Palmeri. She went to Mount Carmel School, where she met her future husband, Bill. Geri was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School and she attended the State University of New York at Brockport.
Geri was a devoted member of Peace of Christ at St. Ambrose Church. She had a strong faith and fully embraced the beauty and challenges in life. Raising six daughters was the biggest accomplishment of her life. Her love and devotion to her family and friends was at the heart of her life's purpose. Geri loved being with her family and her grandchildren. She was a dog-lover, a passionate reader, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and going to the Rochester Public Market. Geri's warmth and caring nature was truly a gift and she will be missed by so many.
A funeral mass will be held at Peace of Christ Parish at St. Ambrose Church at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 11 (25 Empire Boulevard). Interment to follow, at Holy Sepulchre. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Geri's memory may be made to Shepherd Home, St. Ambrose Academy, or Lollypop Farm.
