Obituary of Rudolph Tedesco

Tedesco, Rudolph Penfield: 6/24/2016 at age 96. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years Janette Tedesco. Rudy was born of Italian immigrant parents in Cooperstown, New York. A 1938 graduate of Edison Tech High School, he served four years as a SeaBee in the U.S. Navy during WWII. In 1946, Rudy and his wife opened Gregory Food Center and successfully operated the business 37 years until his retirement in 1982. Rudy loved life. He liked a good challenge and had an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He enjoyed his vegetable garden, grape arbor, and hunting. He liked wearing a variety of hats that he collected from his travels around the world with his wife. He loved a good joke and to make people laugh. He enjoyed playing his mandolins and sharing his gregarious, compassionate nature. Rudy was an inspiration and exceptional role model to his family and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Cherished and adored father of 5 children: Madeleine (Eduardo) Antonio, Cecelia "Cea" Cooper (Andrew) Gallant, Lillian Tedesco, Jeanmarie Uhl, and Ted (Shawn) Tedesco; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; Sisters-in-law Lillian (Angelo) Scarantino, Lois (Martin) Murray; many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank St. Ann's 2nd floor nursing staff for their compassionate care of Rudy. Calling Wednesday 4-8 PM at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fairport Nine Mile Point Rd. (Rte. 250) Webster, NY 14580. Please join the family 10 AM Thursday at St. Joseph Church (43 Gebhardt Rd. Penfield) for his funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
