I was very shocked and saddened here in North Carolina to hear about the passing away of my brother and friend Elston Hernandez. I met Elston in 1978 when I first came to Rochester to engage in Christian ministry among the Hispanics in Rochester. I will always remeber Bro. Elston giving us access to "Los Flamboyanes" a housing development of which he was manager at the time. I also remember him directing us to communal resources in the community. Elston was very dedicated to his family and to his community. He will be sorely missed. May the peace and presence of God be with all of you who will gather to celebrate Elston's life.
