Obituary of Robert Renckens
Robert Paul Renckens of Rochester aged 83 died peacefully at his home on Friday 2/25/11 after a brief illness. He left behind his loving partner of 43 year Gaetana Favasuli, four children, Mary Renckens, Tim Renckens, his wife Susan, Tom Renckens, his wife Sarah, Karen Clanton, her husband Sidney and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Michael, his brother Paul and his sister Phyllis and his parents. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother James, his wife Polly his sister in law Nancy and an extended family of nephews and nieces.
Bob was a WW II veteran having been a Navy signalman on a tanker in the South Pacific. He spent his life as a salesman and won many awards including National Salesman of the Year for Reader's Digest in the late 60's. He could sell ice to an Eskimo. As a friend of Bill's he was committed to the 12 step process and cared deeply for the members of his home group.
His family and friends will remember him as a free spirit who was known for his shining intelligence, his ability to tell a story, his supportive attitude and his quick wit. He was an avid outdoorsman and card player. He loved spending time at their yearly family gatherings at the beach. The world was a better and brighter place with Bob's presence.
