I was one of Gerry's original patients at Rochester Orthopedic Labs being handed off to him by Mr. Nitschke. I present and continue to present unique challenges in making an artificial leg because of my unique birth defect. Gerry was dedicated, determined, creative, and would not give up in trying to give me the best leg he could for many years, always with a smile. He benefited me greatly, giving me the chance to walk, participate in sports, and eventually become a Physical Therapist who now works with children. I will always remember his contribution to my life and I'm sure many others. My condolences to his family in their time of loss. Rick Paine

Dear Tindall and Nitschke families-It was with sorrow that I noticed Gerry's obituary in the paper today. He and I, and Mr. Nitschke, worked together in the 1970s at the Birth Defects Center at Strong Memorial Hospital. I was the new nurse clinician and coordinator of the BDC then and Gerry was a relatively new orthotist, working under the able mentorship of Mr. Nitschke, his father-in-law. I can personally attest that he changed many children's lives for the better through his work at the BDC. I regret that our professional paths have not crossed in years, but fond memories of Gerry remain in my mind. Sharon Bidwell-Cerone PhD, APRN, BC-PNP, Associate Professor of Nursing, Nazareth College
